Why have a staff away day or team building event?
Few would disagree that taking a team out of their normal working day, to collaborate and be challenged in a facilitated environment that challenges and engages, can benefit your organisation. If done well, and there is a clear and meaningful reason to do it, this can result in strengthened team dynamics and increased engagement.
Do you want to foster an environment where people understand each others' roles and responsibilities, and how they should interact with each other?
Do you want to communicate a message and improve team understanding?
Do you want to celebrate your team’s success?
There is genuinely no substitute for a 'face-to-face' get together, and team away days are among the most effective ways of increasing levels of engagement within an organisation. Engaged employees feel connected with the organisation’s values and that their contribution is valued, which in turn encourages people to demonstrate effort, commitment and passion.
Research demonstrates that the impact of engaged employees is superior customer service, both internally and externally, increased performance and well-being; all factors that will increase profitability and equip a business to achieve goals.
Our consultants work within an educational setting on a vast range of matters such as diversity, communication, motivation, time management, conflict management and relationship building, all of which are factors for building a successful team. We appreciate that a team event is about having fun and some time out from the usual day-to-day challenges; however, our approach delivers this alongside creating new thinking, learning and insights that result in improvements in how teams perform and work together. We do this in varied ways depending on client needs: this may involve MBTI feedback, theatre, music or movement as experiential ways to deliver key messages and ignite new thinking.
